I am a lifelong reader and writer with a penchant for balancing the needs to critically analyze and emotionally connect to texts. It’s still a struggle every time. I usually write about what I read as well, and am one of the few people in the world who actually finds it fun in academic settings. Currently going after my bachelor’s degree in English with a specialization in Secondary Education, because I was enamored with the opportunity of being able to talk my head off to a great number of people about literature I love (and that is curriculum appropriate, of course) and be paid.
Besides from my reading and writing, I am a film and music lover, and am always looking for something new and obscure to sink my teeth into. If your favorite movie or album isn’t on any streaming service, you’ve already got my attention. Rest assured, I am forever willing to talk about whatever movie or album has piqued my interest, just don’t expect that to happen too often.
For my hobbies besides consuming media, I enjoy traveling within the United States and seeing the sights. I’ve been to Massachusetts, Maryland, D.C., New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. I’m hoping to get around to even more places. Usually, I’m heading over to museums or famous landmarks, and taking plenty of pictures.
Expect me to make frequent posts to discuss recent books I’ve read, a film or album review from time to time, and perhaps even surprise travel updates where I gush about a new painting or two that’s caught my eye.
